Another reason to get some vegetable gardening going
Posted by admin on Aug 20, 2012 in Blog | 2 commentsI had a bit of a wake-up this weekend:
My guy went off to the local Spar to see what looked nice for supper.
He couldn’t make up his mind, so he bought a pack of pork chops, and a steak – whatever we didn’t eat that night, we’d eat later in the week.
And he bought a pack of salad leaves because it was raining, and the leaves in our garden are still a bit sparse, and – well, it was just easier.
When we compared the prices, look what we found !

Pork chops: R55 / kg |
|
|
Porterhouse steak: R85/kg |
|
|
Lettuce pack*: R100/kg |
I’m looking at my rocket and cabbage, spinach and cos with new respect!
(Lettuce pack image stolen off PnP's website – we ate our one from Spar. But it's the same price.)

My tank is ready to go for the summer rains!!!
are you goiing to share that mine with the tradeunions
